| Synopsis: Joseph (Spain), an 18 year old
Mexican American high school senior, is brutally attacked by two
locals who represent the bigotry and ignorance of a predominantly
white, middle class town in California. In his rage Joseph murders
his attackers and is shot in the process. Scared, wounded and alone
he breaks into what he thinks is an empty house only to find, home
alone for the weekend, a classmate of his, Lolly. Lolly, raised
sheltered and emotionaly cold, fears the worst from the intruder.
Over the course of the weekend, the relationship between Lolly and
Joseph changes from an escaped murderer and hostage to two teenagers
from different worlds who are able to break down the racial and
sexual barriers between them. They then try to escape from this town
that would rather see them dead than together. |
